Anniversary ideas that aren't dinner and a cake
5 min read
Anniversaries have a pattern. You both remember it two weeks out, agree you should do something properly this year, and then book the same restaurant three days before because nobody had time.
The alternatives below are ordered by effort. All of them beat the restaurant.
Rebuild the first date
If your first date was a film, screen that film under the open sky. If it was a coffee somewhere, recreate the table. This works because it is specific to you, which no restaurant booking can be.
It also gives whoever is setting up something concrete to work from, which usually produces a better result than "something romantic".
Put the years on display
Photographs from each year, strung with lights or laid along a table, take a private dinner from pleasant to genuinely affecting. People underestimate this one badly.
It costs almost nothing beyond the printing and it is the part guests and partners tend to remember.
Take it somewhere she has not been
Tricity has rooftops, farmhouses, hotel terraces, cafes and lakeside spots that most people never see, because they are not listed anywhere obvious and are booked by word of mouth.
If you do not have a venue, that is a normal starting point rather than a problem. Describe the feel you want and get options back rather than trying to research it yourself.
How far ahead to book
Custom setups are best booked at least 15 days out. Larger celebrations need 15 to 30 days so the venue and vendors line up.
Same-day and two-to-three-day bookings are sometimes possible on selected setups, subject to availability. If your date is close, ask rather than assume.
Anniversary setups start at ₹15,000. A 50% advance reserves the date and the balance is due at least four hours before.
Tell us the date and how many years, and we will handle the rest.
